HbbTV Symposium – 12-13 November 2025 Istanbul

Hybrid broadcast broadband TV (or “HbbTV”) is a global initiative aimed at harmonizing the broadcast and broadband delivery of entertainment services to consumers through connected TVs, set‐top boxes and multiscreen devices. The HbbTV specification is developed by industry leaders to improve the video user experience for consumers by enabling innovative, interactive services over broadcast and broadband networks. The specification uses elements of existing specifications from other standards including OIPF, CEA, DVB, MPEG-DASH and W3C.

The 13th HbbTV Symposium and Awards on 12-13 November 2025 in Istanbul, Turkey, will provide a unique platform to present and discuss the latest developments in the connected TV industry. The event will take place at the Swissôtel The Bosphorus Istanbul, a five-star hotel offering first-class conference and accommodation facilities with panoramic views over the iconic Bosphorus.

Communication Training Seminar in Case of Disaster – Istanbul Technical University – November 28, 2025

The Chairman of TUYAD, Hayrettin Özaydın, together with Prof. Dr. B. Koray Tunçalp from Haliç University, Dr. Uğur Kesen from Marmara University, and Prof. Dr. Zahit Mecitoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Istanbul Technical University, along with his management team, recently visited the ITU Central Classroom Building.

As a result of the meeting, it was decided to hold a free training seminar on November 28, 2025, from 10:00 to 16:00 at the Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center Conference Hall (SDKM).

Training topics include:

  1. Commissioning and operations of VSAT systems,

  2. Satellite communication solutions during disasters,

  3. Next-generation satellite technologies,

  4. Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites and payloads,

all of which are of great technical and strategic importance.

Through this collaboration, TUYAD aims to bring young engineering candidates together with the industry, support academic education with practical knowledge, and enhance Turkey’s competence in the fields of space and communication technologies.
