Why TUYAD?

TUYAD is a BUSINESSPEOPLE’S ASSOCIATION founded in Istanbul in 2000 by socially conscious business leaders who believe that the values of the Republic represent equal rights and opportunities for all humanity, and that the rule of law, justice, peace, and happiness are indispensable prerequisites in business life. Established with the vision of a Türkiye that is influential in its region and respected worldwide, TUYAD was among the first business associations to emphasize gender equality in the business world.

TUYAD is also a PLATFORM FOR TRADESPEOPLE, INDUSTRIALISTS, UNIVERSITIES, AND TECHNOLOGY, established to support the availability of television broadcasting across all screens and platforms, encourage its members to participate in industrial growth, employment, and export initiatives driven by technological advancements, and contribute to the social, cultural, political, economic, scientific, and technological development of individuals, institutions, Türkiye, society, and the world.

In its 20th year, TUYAD stands as a strong NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATION (NGO) with 48 members collectively providing employment to 10 million people both domestically and internationally. The association collaborates with chambers of commerce and industry throughout Türkiye on educational and social initiatives, represents the sector at 25 trade fairs annually across 45 countries, and provides valuable services to its members. TUYAD also actively communicates its members’ concerns, opinions, and recommendations directly to relevant public institutions and authorities.

Through its DIGITAL LIFE (DİJİTAL YAŞAM) magazine, www.dijitalyasam.org, TUYAD publishes and distributes specialized industry content both in print and digitally, reaching audiences throughout Türkiye and around the world.

Our experienced teams professionally manage our website and social media activities. Since 2009, we have also conducted our international operations through locally sourced professional services in overseas markets.

For the past 14 years, we have received professional consultancy services from HEDEFKOÇ Consulting, www.hedefkoc.com. Through our professional leadership and management structure, we successfully maintain fair competition among our members.

Our specialized publication, Digital Life, also serves the industry through printed research reports, booklets, catalogs, and sector-specific supplements. In addition, we regularly update promotional brochures introducing our member companies and their executives.

The industry-focused articles and promotional materials published in our magazines and brochures are not intended as commercial advertisements. Instead, they aim to share knowledge, expertise, and valuable insights with the sector. In accordance with our principle of equality, these services are provided free of charge.

We closely monitor developments in competing countries and assess their strategies for expanding the telecommunications sector, market size, and trade volume. Based on these developments, our Board of Directors formulates and implements appropriate policies to strengthen the industry’s competitiveness and growth.

We organize international business meetings both in person and remotely. From time to time, delegations of businesspeople from various countries are hosted at TUYAD Headquarters, where workshops and business networking sessions are organized to facilitate meetings with our members.

These events are open to all members involved in the relevant fields. Announcements are made via email, and participation is free of charge.

To help our members become familiar with international markets and establish opportunities for exports, we organize international business trips to selected countries identified through research and development activities carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade.

Interested members may participate in these international business trips by paying only one-quarter of the total cost. Interpretation, guidance, and accommodation services are organized through TUYAD and the resources available under the Ministry of Trade’s UR-GE (International Competitiveness Development) program.

TUYAD also prepares evaluation and research reports on sector-specific trade fairs held both domestically and internationally. These reports are distributed to our members in digital format.

We establish connections with international associations and forums operating in related business sectors and develop strategic partnerships and collaborative initiatives.

TUYAD is the Türkiye partner and business associate of GVF (Global VSAT Forum).

To support its members, TUYAD organizes the ITSB Telecommunications, Satellite, Mobile and TV Broadcasting Trade Fair and Conference. Members are informed about the event and may participate by paying a reduced exhibition stand fee.

This event, which places particular emphasis on international procurement opportunities, is managed by TUYAD.

To date, TUYAD has successfully completed and certified more than 6,000 training programs across Türkiye.

We support industry professionals through certification programs offered by MYK (Vocational Qualifications Authority) and TUYAD Academy.

Our training programs and social activities are conducted in collaboration with the technical personnel of companies operating in our sector. These initiatives also ensure that the latest technical information and product developments are shared with industry professionals.

Furthermore, in accordance with our agreement with Marmara University, we develop specialized training materials and deliver on-site educational programs through joint initiatives between TÜRKSAT and TUYAD.

TUYAD also works to identify suitable candidates for vacant positions at member companies and other businesses experiencing workforce shortages. The association organizes recruitment and employee training seminars at its headquarters. These seminars are open to all members and are provided free of charge.

TUYAD organizes educational and professional development programs for its members in the following categories:

Personal Development Programs

Training activities designed to enhance the quality and productivity of human resources, which are the most valuable assets of any business or organization. These programs include management and leadership development courses for current and prospective executives.

TUYAD also offers organizational assessment and business evaluation services to help members improve their workplaces, optimize business operations, and accelerate their institutionalization processes. Training and consultancy services are provided to support organizational assessment, problem identification, and improvement strategies.

Social Development Programs

Social activities designed to strengthen relationships among members, their spouses, children, and employees. These initiatives aim to encourage interaction, reinforce social connections, and foster a shared sense of belonging and team spirit.

Professional Development Training

Programs designed to enhance the knowledge, expertise, and professional skills of employees working at member companies.

These programs include skills assessments to help employees identify their professional strengths and areas for improvement, guidance on recruitment and appropriate departmental placement, and training in effective communication, self-confidence, presentation, and persuasion skills.

TUYAD may also organize customized training programs on various subjects to support the internal training and professional development needs of employees at member companies.

Membership Rights and Benefits

Right to Join and Withdraw from Membership

Any company operating in the telecommunications sector may apply for membership in TUYAD.

Membership applications are evaluated based on a recommendation from an existing member company and approval by the Board of Directors.

Members may request to withdraw from the association after fulfilling their outstanding obligations, including membership fees and any other applicable dues.

Right to Participate in Committees

TUYAD has 13 active committees operating in various specialized fields.

Every company that successfully completes the membership application process may request to participate in committees relevant to its business activities and areas of expertise.

Right to Access Industry Documentation, Information, and Professional Support

Every member is entitled to request industry-related information, documentation, research, and professional support from TUYAD in accordance with the principles and responsibilities of a non-governmental organization.

TUYAD provides these services to its members free of charge.

Business Networking, Institutional Representation, and Industry Support

Beyond providing opportunities to establish a strong business network, TUYAD also helps its members develop valuable social and professional relationships through its extensive activities and resources.
